    BluCem HS200 PT – post-tensioning grouting material

    Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) development is one of the latest mixed-use projects completed in Singapore. Costing 3.7 billion to build, the 4-hectare project comprises of PLQ Mall (about 200 retail shops across six floors), PLQ Workplace (three Grade A office towers), and the Park Place Residences condominium (429 units). With its close proximity to the airport and the Central Business District (CBD), it is a highly sought-after property to own and has attracted many anchor tenants and multinational companies to locate their offices here.

    QUICSEAL, with its business partner – Bluey Technologies were part of this distinguished project and supplied over 300 tonnes (12,000 bags of 25kg) of the post-tensioning grouting material – BluCem HS200 PT grout. This material was used to fully encapsulate the tendons in the post-tensioned slabs for the office towers and shopping mall.

    With BluCem HS200 fully complying to BS EN 447 – a European Standard that covers the materials that may be used in the manufacture of cement grouts and the required properties and composition of the grout, and is an important criteria that is recognised by consultants, this material was able to differentiate itself from competition and convince the main contractor and grout specialist. Together with the in-house technical team who provided professional support in the areas of mock-up, and trade demonstrations to the project team, Quicseal managed to complete the job effectively and efficiently.

    BluCem HS200 PT grout is an ultra flow-able, high strength product suitable for civil engineering applications. It uses the most advanced superplasticizers and suspension agents to create an exceptionally high-performance grout. Pre-construction trials showed that BluCem HS200 achieves a good flow time of 14 seconds using EN447 flow cone test method, and further achieves less than 20% change in flow time after 30 minutes. Most importantly, BluCem HS200 also demonstrates less than 0.2% bleeding in a one-metre column with a 7-wire strand, and BluCem HS200 achieves a high compressive strength of 50MPa and 100MPa at 24 hours and 28 days’ cure respectively.
